◦ What Whitening Can Do

A brighter smile,
done right.

Whitening is the fastest, most affordable way to refresh your smile. Professional-grade gels — used under supervision — deliver the kind of even, dramatic brightening that store-bought kits promise but rarely achieve.

What Whitening Lifts

Stains That Respond Best

Whitening works best on extrinsic, yellow-toned stains that build up on the surface of enamel over the years. Dr. Greene most often treats:

  • Coffee, tea, and red wine staining
  • Tobacco discoloration
  • General yellowing that comes with age
  • Dullness before a wedding or special event
An Honest Word

What to Know First

Whitening is powerful, but it isn't right for every stain. Being upfront helps us plan the best result for you:

  • It won't lighten veneers, crowns, bonding, or fillings
  • Intrinsic stains (tetracycline, fluorosis, trauma) respond less predictably
  • Temporary sensitivity is common and short-lived
  • A healthy mouth — no untreated decay or gum disease — comes first

Whitening is often the first step toward a full smile makeover.

◦ How to Choose

In-Office vs.
Take-Home Trays.

◦ The Gleem Difference

Why professional whitening simply works.

The difference between a dramatic result and a disappointing one is supervision, strength, and fit — three things a drugstore box can't offer.

Beyond the Drugstore.

Professional whitening uses higher-concentration, dentist-supervised peroxide gels that lift stains far past what over-the-counter strips or whitening toothpastes can reach — safely, and with predictable results.

01 / STRENGTH

Safe by Design.

Before any gel touches your teeth, Dr. Greene confirms your mouth is healthy. Supervised treatment protects your gums and enamel and keeps common, temporary sensitivity to a minimum.

02 / SUPERVISION

Made for You.

Take-home trays are precisely molded to your teeth, so the gel stays where it belongs and every tooth brightens evenly — a level of fit boil-and-bite kits simply can't match.

◦ Frequently asked

Questions,
answered.

01

How much whiter will my teeth get?

Professional whitening can dramatically brighten teeth — often several shades in a single in-office visit. Results vary based on the type and depth of your staining. Yellowing from coffee, tea, wine, tobacco, and age responds best, while intrinsic stains take more time and are less predictable. Dr. Greene will preview realistic results for your specific smile.
02

Will whitening work on my crowns, veneers, or fillings?

No — this is important to plan for. Whitening gel only lifts stains from natural tooth enamel; it does not change the color of veneers, crowns, bonding, or fillings. If you have visible dental work, we'll time your whitening so any future restorations can be color-matched to your newly brightened shade. For stains that won't lift, porcelain veneers or dental bonding may be better options.
03

Does teeth whitening cause sensitivity?

Temporary tooth sensitivity is common during whitening and almost always fades within a day or two after treatment. Because your care is dentist-supervised, we can adjust gel strength and wear time to keep you comfortable, and we'll confirm your mouth is healthy — free of untreated decay or gum disease — before we begin.
04

How long do whitening results last?

Results typically last several months to a couple of years, depending on your habits. Coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco will gradually dull your shade over time. Periodic touch-ups — easy with custom take-home trays — keep your smile bright for the long term.
05

What about white spots on my teeth?

Whitening lifts stains but won't erase white spots caused by early enamel changes or fluorosis. For those, Icon resin infiltration can blend the spots into your natural enamel. Whitening also makes an excellent first step in a full smile makeover.
